Arda Diben, in his first solo exhibition “Zoned for Construction”  at C.A,M. Gallery, investigates the urbanization of time (and irregular urbanization in general), uncontrolled growth, lack of green spaces, and the loneliness found in contemporary life through a dystopian lens.
    The artist tries to conduct this inquiry without taking sides or accusations, preferring to remind us, in a straightforward and objective manner of certain essential routines we’ve lost sight of. Simultaneously, the work creates a passage for us to distinguish whether we’re looking towards the future or examining the present.                                                                                                                 Metaphorically, Diben constructs a relationship between        the future and himself in a space that slowly become a wall that is frozen. This “solid” void that emerges implies a resistance to life, to existence.
