Her Story
15.03 - 30.04.2025
For centuries, women have been fighting for their existence, trapped between societal pressures and dogmatic rules. Awssigned roles, dictated norms, and overlooked potential, every woman writes a story of resistance. This exhibition aims to make visible, through an artistic manifesto, the violence, marginalization, and commodification that women endure, as well as the lives society at tempts to seal with a “second-class” label.
In this exhibition, we respond to every force that seeks to silence women’s voices—with art. Lines, colors, and images are not a lament but a manifesto of resistance. The female body is not merely an object; it is a battleground. Womanhood is a call for freedom that transcends boundaries.
Virginia Woolf’s words perfectly encapsulate the spirit of this exhibition:
“A woman who does not have a room of her own and a little money can neither write nor live.”
Women must write themselves into the story; otherwise, they will always be left out.
This exhibition celebrates women’s efforts to place themselves at the center of the narrative. Art is the weapon of this struggle, the voice of women, and a platform where the unseen becomes visible. Each piece in the exhibition is a cry against silence, a challenge to injustice.
Featuring works by Ayşe Bezenmiş, Berk Güntürk, Burcu Perçin, Kezban Arca Batıbeki, Mine Birgen, and Seldem Kargı, the exhibition will be on view at C.A.M. Gallery / Çukurcuma from March 15 to April 30.
