Murat Durusoy

Seyir

February 10 - March 17, 2012

C.A.M. Gallery / Akaretler presents Murat Durusoy’s exhibition ‘Seyir’ on February 10 – March 17, 2012.

The word ‘Seyir’ is one of the comprehensive words in Turkish, which means taking a journey from one place to another, to look and also to daydream. Pieces in this exhibition are the outcomes of a 2 years period of looking, wandering and researching.

The exhibition presents works which travels uncannily along the path of History of Digital Culture, new dimensions of photographical expression and digital image production. At one point photographs in this exhibition try to exploit as much as technological tools where as they are also an attempt to re-shape, re-structure the limits of provided technology and its rules which are set by software developers.

As a new destination of ‘Seyir’, the series ‘Ahırkapı’ is a step through the cities photographed in ‘Seyir’. It is an anthology of Durusoy’s photographs in which he maintains stretching the limits and questioning the relations of space, perspective and subject.

Actually, there is only one important question Durusoy desires to ask upon these photographs; “What if I really see the world like this?”
