Mahmut Celayir
Hesareg
February 1 - March 3, 2018
With in this exhibition the artist still continues to express the landscape through to his large -scale paintings. Tracing a pastoral memory in the sense of abstract, stable and fluid forms Celayir yet goes after the worn and battered one. In these paintings including paper collages, visual vibrations that created by an organic tissue convert to a range of stiff and wrathful motion within sense of a cosmic space. The artist expresses the tensions created by the eternal conflict of light and shadow, darkness and light as a visual material in his works, and refers to the processes of the universe and the pain of existence by narrating land and time. Newspaper writings and texts appearing in the paintings give us a collective memory and current touches. Hesareg is a local mountain that makes mythical associations in the area where the artist has made nature’s trips.
